Effective communication with parents

 Effective communication is essential for building school-family partnerships. As a first year teacher, I have seen great partnerships arise from positive contact  to parents. Nowadays, many parents are accustomed to only receiving calls, emails, or messages for negative news about their student. They are surprisingly shocked yet relieved when they discover that the teacher is calling to brag or share positive news. Parent involvement plays an intricate role in their students success. In order to engage parents of diverse backgrounds, I utilize different technological formats to engage parental involvement. ProfessionAL COMMUNICATION & DEVELOPMENT

Professional development and effective communication is essential for the advancement and success of education. Educational practice in Texas allows for this improvement through staff development programs provided throughout the school year. These programs allow for teachers to communicate ideas with one another and some teachers are able to design effective training sessions so that specific needs are adequately met. It is important that teachers utilize the sources they are provided with and work closely with other teachers, supervisors, mentors, and other Educational professionals to enhance professional knowledge and skills.

legal and ethical requirements

When hired, the school board expects that every teacher is well informed of the legal issues affecting teaching and always works in compliance with them. The Family Educational Right to Privacy Act (known as the Buckley Amendment) specifies the conditions under which information about students can and cannot be dispensed. Teachers are not allowed to show favoritism or bias towards students based upon their race, sexual orientation, religious/political beliefs, etc. The Individuals with Disabilities Act of 1997 (IDEA), was designed to ensure that all children with disabilities have available to them a free appropriate public education that emphasizes special education and related services.
